Dos and Don’ts – Tips for Online Shopping on Italy & Europe Shops

June 1, 2019

Dos

tickBe Aware of the Currency Exchange Rate

Italy, being a member of the EU, EURO (€) is the default currency for checking out on most online stores. For those online stores using other currency values, you need to be aware of as its operations may not be within Europe, and there is a chance that you won’t be able to purchase from that store!

tick Difference in Time Zone

Want to snap up limited edition handbags or other fashion items from Italy brands? Pay attention to the difference in time zone! For example, if new product is scheduled to launch on Italy website at 12:00pm, it would be 3:30pm in India.

tick Italy’s Sales Season

Sales season in Italy usually starts from January 5 and lasts for 2-3 months. Another round of sales season will be on July 5 and lasts for 2-3 months as well. Apart from the Sales Season, there are a variety of discount days throughout the year, and of course you can get the latest news about hot deals from our blogs and Facebook page!

tick Make Use of Google Chrome’s Translation Feature

Most Italian online stores only support Italian language – so we suggest you to browse with Google Chrome, which has an auto-translation feature to deliver you a seamless shopping experience!

tick Warehouse Address

Please pay attention to the delivery address – our warehouse address is “Via Carabelli, 1”. If the website automatically filled in “Via D Carabelli, 1”, make sure you have removed “D” before confirming the address.

tick Taxation

Generally speaking, tax is not required for online shopping on all websites which operate within the EU territory. However, if any import tax or other costs occurred, you must pay for it in advance.

tick Parcel Checkout Schedule

Parcels arriving at our Italy warehouse will be checked out once a week and is scheduled to be shipped out on every Friday.

Don’ts

cross Restricted Item and Over-size Parcel

All liquids, cosmetics and products with built-in battery are strictly prohibited. Either side of the parcel cannot exceed 50CM and the sum of all 3 sides cannot exceed 100CM. For parcel not meeting the above requirements, you will have to pay for extra fees or, in worst case, your parcel will be rejected by the warehouse and will not be shipped to you.

cross COD

Please don’t select Cash-On-Delivery method when you checkout on online stores – our Italy warehouse won’t pay for it and your parcel will be rejected.

cross No VAT/Fiscal code Will be Provided

Some online stores may ask for a VAT/Fiscal code to complete the transaction. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any VAT/Fiscal code.

cross Missing Your Buyandship User ID

Make sure you have entered your Buyandship user ID correctly as this is the only method we use to identify your parcel.
